The INDP. The National Institute for Fisheries Development (INDP) is a public institute created in 1992, to oversee several major activities related to marine and fisheries research with the goal of promoting the economic and social development of Cabo Verde’s fishery sector. INDP’s main focus is fisheries and marine research as well as on fishery development. The institute is structured into four departments: The Marine Research and Aquaculture Department (including Statistics Division), the Department of Promotion of the Development of Fishery, the Department of Studies and Projects and the Department of Administration and Finance. The INDP has administrative and financial autonomy, as well as scientific and technical autonomy. For its needs, the Institute operates three smalls research vessels.
